Cristina De Middel (@lademiddel) is a photographer whose work investigates photography’s ambiguous relationship to truth. Blending documentary and conceptual photographic practices, she plays with reconstructions and archetypes in order to build a more layered understanding of the subject she approaches. .
De Middel will be in conversation with artist, critic and art historian Lucy Soutter at Barbican Centre on June 14, as part of the Magnum Photos Now series, where they will be discussing de Middel's methods of storytelling and play within her documentary photographic practice.
