Every year starting about now, icebergs that have calved from glaciers in Western Greenland drift down to the Canadian provinces of Labrador and Newfoundland. Its a bit of a treasure hunt to find them but when you do, they are among the more remarkable things on earth to behold. @natgeoadventure sent me to Newfoundland years ago to sea kayak the coast in search of these icebergs. I shot this picture of writer Byron Ricks paddling near a giant that had run aground off of Quirpon Island, an uninhabited island at the most northern tip of Newfoundland.
