Thumbs up to all the veterinary professionals who are writing me with stories like this. ❤️ You are the humane and ethical human beings who are honoring your oath to ease the suffering in animals. ❤️ Your moral compass is spot on and you believe in just HEALING animals and not harming them! ❤️ You didn't sell your souls to this inhumane and mutilating procedure that unethical humans in the vet profession in the 50's invented and called it declawing to deceive cat owners to think it’s just removing the claws. ? Here's a note from a Canadian vet assistant that I received this week. "Dear City, I worked for a vet well over a decade ago, and saw this often. (She is referring to a photo of a laser declawed cat with blood all over the cage after it took off its bandages) These are the images the owner doesn't see nor understand. My thought was that all owners who paid for a declaw should have to see the procedure from start to finish. To know what they subjected their pet to. Maybe then they would understand the cruelty involved. It's been years since I've been in the OR with a declaw and I'm still disturbed by many of those memories, especially the cats who were declawed with a heavy-duty pair of canine nail trimmers. That's an image I'll never forget and I sure wish the cats owners could have witnessed it. (We also had a laser, the cats still bled and needed massive doses of pain meds.)
