The medieval towers of Svaneti in Georgia’s greater Caucasus mountains.

These towers are simply stunners. Built from the 9th century onwards, these defense lookouts kept the highest villages in Europe safe from invasions.

You can’t visit the Republic of Georgia without visiting the Caucasus mountains. The town of Svaneti was a real highlight.
