Jan was a lot of things a great swimmer, an awesome coach, a mentor, a visionary but most importantly she was a great friend. She was someone who I could always count on for support, guidance or just someone to tell it to me straight. She was someone who I knew always had my back even though she never coached me. Jan paved the way for women coaches on the pool deck and she will be greatly missed. Jan I’m going to miss having you around to talk to. You made me feel better even without a word.
