This week, the @NFL decamped in Dallas for its annual #NFLDraft. The first round began Thursday night at @attstadium. Dubbed “Jerry World” for its builder, @dallascowboys owner Jerry Jones, the stadium is one of the largest in the league and the biggest stage yet for the highlight of the @NFL off-season. Needless to say, the event has come a long way from the ballroom of the New York Sheraton, where the draft was held in 1980, the first year @espn televised it. And this year’s stadium setting in North Texas, the cradle of 21st century football, shows just how much the league has evolved from the business of sport to the business of spectacle. @cooperneill photographed these @buffalobills fans cheering their team’s pick during the first round of the @NFL draft. The draft will continue with rounds 2 and 3 on Friday night, with plenty of impact players like @uiowa’s Josh Jackson, @lsu’s Derrius Guice and @smudallas’s Courtland Sutton still on the board.
