The women will walk for 2 hours and then spend the day building a chimney and stove for another family. “This is my job”, Sofia, 24, says, “I do this everyday and it makes me so happy.” Toxic smoke from cooking fires causes more than four million deaths per year and is the single leading cause of death for women and for children under age five in the developing world. Installing clean cook stoves saves lives.
