Frontside Disaster ➖
The frontside disaster really came from skating, where the skaters do a 50/50 board slide on the coping then pop back into the bowl or ramp. In the beginning of this move I'm sure there were some crazy hang up to slam combos that brought about the name disaster but I am not claiming to be historically correct on this...............................................................................➖
Starting with that clean bottom turn ? you want to eye the lip section you are going to hit. As you approach the section, the beginning of the turn is much like a normal off the lip except the point where you turn down is slightly later so it's easier to release the fins...............................................................................➖
There are two key things that have to happen at the same time as you start your turn. As you start to hit the lip you want to compress onto your front foot which frees the tail to release easier and at the same time your back arm and shoulder must come forward to keep you centered. If your back arm does not come forward you will fall back when the tail releases. If the back arm is in front of you through out the turn it will keep you controlled and centered and you can come out of the turn right into another maneuver.....................................................................➖ ? @lieberfilms
