こんにちは。
本日は、世界最高の写真家集団“マグナム”の写真より、ロバート・キャパが撮影した「東京駅、1954」をご紹介いたします。
1913年にハンガリーのブダペストに生まれたロバート・キャパは、1930年代から報道写真家として世界中を駆け巡り、各地の戦争や人々の暮らしの様子をカメラに収め続けました。キャパは、1954年5月、インドシナで地雷を踏み命を落としました。その直前に彼は毎日新聞に招聘され、最初で最後の来日をしています。4月から5月にかけての19日間東京や大阪、京都などを回り、確認されているだけでも2,000枚以上の写真を残しています。この写真は、その際に東京駅で撮影されたものの中の1枚です。PORTER OMOTESANDOでは、この写真を展示・販売しております。この他にも“マグナム”の写真家が撮った『旅』をテーマとした写真を店内に展示・販売しております。ご来店の際は鞄と共に是非ご覧ください。

Hello.
Today we would like to introduce the “Tokyo Station, 1954” by Robert Capa from “Magnum”, one of the most ultimate group of photographers.
Robert Capa was born in 1913 at Budapest, Hungary. He traveled worldwide since the 1930's as a photojournalist and continued to photograph the lives of people and war. In May 1954, he was killed by a land mine Indochina. Just before this tragedy he visited Japan for his first and last time invited by “The Mainchi” newspapers. During his 19 days in Japan between April to May he traveled Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto etc. and photographed a tremendous amount of photos; over 2,000 shots already found. This photo was one of those shots taken at Tokyo station. We exhibit and sell this photo here at
PORTER Omotesando. We also exhibit and sell many other photos by “Magnum” which relates to our concept of “TRIP”. Please take a look at them along with our bags.
