Meet Hanzi. Hanzi is an explosives detection canine at the Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL). In addition to possessing the elite skills of explosives detection, Hanzi is also part of an exciting new pilot program. Hanzi is wearing specially designed glasses that give him the ability to detect hidden items that travelers might be trying to sneak onto the aircraft. Through extensive item recognition training and a lot of treats, Hanzi is now able spot everything from bacon to batarangs. We didn’t train him to look for bacon, Hanzi just picked up that skill on his own.
