Enhanced audio revealed his murderer said “I’ll kill you, bitch.” And then he did. Kill him. He shot him 6 times. 3 in the chest. 3 more as he rolled over dying. He was selling CDs outside of the store. That’s it. Alton was a friend of the store owner. Alton was a family man. ANOTHER #black woman and her children have had their father taken by #gunviolence and are left with the burden of the trauma of injustice. Any citizen would have been charged for this murder. The murderer was a #white officer, he was assisted by another white officer. They have been on paid leave for 20 months. Today. The AG of #Louisiana Jeff Landry personally declined to charge. Yes, this is about race. The badge allows officers to break the law, especially and all too often when the victim is seen as less than human (aka #Brown and #Black and #Indigenous men and women) #GunVIOLENCE and #PoliceVIOLENCE are NOT separate conversations. The same hundreds of thousands of people who took to the streets outraged about #Parkland this past weekend should be OUTRAGED and demanding justice for Alton and the many victims of unjust profiling and murder by gun at hands of police. The NEXT DAY, #PhilandoCastile , a loving #teacher who warned a trigger happy officer that he had a gun, was also executed on video, with his lover and their child in the car to witness. This is not new. #StephonClark, #TamirRice, #RekiaBoyd, #DecynthiaClements #KorrynGaines and countless others are why we continue to scream #BlackLivesMatter because the citizens with badges who are supposed to protect them, too often, at a disproportionate rate, take them by gun, by force, by #injustice, by discrimination, by incarceration.
