Art over hate!
Recently I travelled through Indonesia with a crew of amazing artists, painting murals and promoting art over hate and anti racism.
We worked in Bali, Kupang (Timor) and Yogyakarta (Java). Of course, there’s so many great stories from the trip. Including the surprise greeting on arrival at Kupang airport by the mayor and his entourage. Then meeting the chief of police who granted us permission to paint any wall in the city (a nice change to the greeting these artists usually get from the cops!) Later the police came to help us paint and take selfies.
Stories and art aside, the best part of these trips is the people we meet along the way. In every place, we were welcomed with wonderful kindness and generosity.
It’s a thrill to experience and learn about different cultures. We are so fortunate to live in a world with such beautiful diversity.

Thanks to the local art communities of Kupang and Yogyakarta - your help, generosity and amazing talent was humbling and much appreciated!
