Spring is almost here! Tuesday officially marks the start of the new season. For Iranians, Afghans, Kurds and Tajiks the first day of spring is also the beginning of their new year, called 'Nowruz'. In Iran people prepare for the New Year by doing 'khane-tekani', which literally means 'shaking the house', a spring cleaning. Here, near the royal graves at Naqsh-e Rustam, professional textile cleaners wash carpets and leave them to dry in the sun. #happynowruz #Iran #spring
