Sami, 14, was caught up in a horrific explosion while playing in the snow outside his home in Syria. He lost both of his legs in the blast - as well as two of his cousins. Sami’s only recollection of the attack was waking up in the hospital and realising he couldn’t walk. "When I was younger, I didn't like school. But in recent years I realized how important school is - I really want to learn English" says Sami. Because of his injuries, Sami was forced to leave school to get medical treatment in Jordan, where he has undergone two surgeries. But Sami is undefeated: "No one is stronger than me. I want to paint and go to parties."
