If a person gets the Shingi stick, he would be really blesses for a year. However it is extremely difficult to catch the holy sticks thrown by the priest, because of so may participants. Even if a person gets the stick, others could easily take it from the person: they can continuously compete until the holy stick obtained man gets out the site through the gate. In addition, when the holy Shingi sticks are thrown, the all lights are virtually turned off into the darkness. The participants have to find the sticks by the smell, as those are incensed. In these situations, many could be wounded, actually even to death. Yet, still in this modern time, so many people want to participate in the festival not only for the holy sticks, but for the pride.
