I left Exempel at the vets at 8:30am this morning to have his abscess removed and drained. The vet called me around 11am and said that they didn't need to put him under anesthesia as the abscess was filled with ear wax which they could get out without a surgery. They took an X-ray just to be sure, and it looked good. It was pretty cool to see an X-ray of his skull as well as I never had before.
I have to give him penicillin once a day and ear drops twice a day. Let's cross our fingers (and paws) that it doesn't come back now! I'm also so happy that he never was in pain because of the abscess.
