This chilly scenery is from Ebino Plateau Fudo-ike Crater Lake in Miyazaki Prefecture, where just this year it reached a -10℃! Incredibly enough the center of Fudo-ike’s startlingly blue waters froze over, while the shore remained thawed. Depending on whether it’s sunny or snowy, visitors can enjoy distinctly different sides of the same beautiful lake.
