This is far from true, however, as I would find out climbing in the gorges of Slovakia. These stream carved upturned canyons offer an adventure that feels like something out of a story. Complete with iced over waterfalls, chains, metal platforms, and lots and lots of snow, this Slovakian Gorge was one of the best hiking discoveries I can remember.
