❤️ #Repost @brileyblueeyes I have tried to write this so many different ways, but what I have come up with is this: First, it is important to recognize the courage, strength and bravery that it took for all of the ladies to stand up for themselves in court over the past week. I am so proud to have trained and competed with many of you. You are inspiring and so admirable through your character. You are the faces and stories of the sport. Despite all of the sadness, pain, anger, negativity and plethora of other emotions surrounding gymnastics right now, I still choose to believe in the sport. I just want to remind the world, from someone who trained and competed the highest level of the sport (including representing WOGA, the University of Michigan, and our great country the USA domestically and internationally), that the sport itself is GOOD. Gymnastics has created amazing opportunities for so many human beings like me, and I have the honor and privilege of representing the aforementioned institutions for the rest of my life. The few things in my life that I am most proud of are my gymnastics accomplishments. I still love the sport that got me exactly where I am today, all hardships included. I hope we can all continue to love and support the athletes involved today. It is important to learn from everything that has happened up to this point in order to change the entire culture of the sport. We all can do our part in supporting future generations of young athletes with big goals. Please remember that what we do now is important for the current and future gymnasts’ careers. I urge everyone to not give up on the sport that usually gets its highest recognition once every four years at the Olympics. While it is a time of growth and healing, now is the time more than ever to emphasize the safety and well being of the current/future athletes involved. While there is still a lot more one could add, nothing else I can say will be novel at this point. The idea is that we need to maintain our faith in the sport that inspired us all to be involved in the first place. The gymnastics community is more resilient than the negatives that have taken place in it. Yours,
