Growing up in Harare, Zimbabwe, I would often hear my relatives speak highly about an older uncle or my own grandfather, “He was a good man, he sent all his daughters to school too.” I witnessed how extraordinary it was for girls to be sent to school back then, and sadly it is still a challenge today with 130 million girls deprived of an education simply because of their gender. @ONEcampaign’s Poverty is Sexist movement brings awareness to the education crisis and advocates for those living in the poorest countries in the world where the largest gender gap around access and schooling exists.
