The legendary #AlanRickman passed away two years ago today. I was first introduced to the man’s genius in DIE HARD back in 1988. I went into the movie theater that night to see a Bruce Willis flick but I left the theater mostly chattering about “that new guy” and his crimson, charming take on a movie villain. From 1988 on I followed all of Alan’s cinematic work religiously - and ten years later in 1998, I got to actually work with him in my fourth film DOGMA. From 1998 to 2016, I could call the Voice of God my buddy. I never stopped loving how he practiced his craft but it was my friendship with Alan that I cherished the most. Whenever I was in London, he’d take us out to dinner. And when he directed or acted in theatrical productions here in the states, I’d be there in the audience cheering him on.
