? On the second day of Clarence House Christmas, my true love sent to me, two turtles released back into the sea ?

In October this year, HRH visited Malta to find out how pollution and plastics in the ocean are affecting our wildlife. The Prince released two turtles, Tomasina and Denise back in to the ocean, after being rehabilitated be Malta’s Nature Trust. The Trust gave us an update on where the two turtles would go after their release: “From experience, in the first few days they would be staying close to land, but being October they would start heading to the South Mediterranean in search for warmer waters. They would eventually return to the central and north Mediterranean around May. “If the turtle gets recovered by another centre from the microchip we added, they would know it comes from Malta and they would inform us. “One turtle that was released from Malta with a transmitter some years back actually swam up to Italy and France and back to the central Mediterranean region in just a few weeks.”
