The Aibo was Sony’s first venture into domestic entertainment robots and was principally designed as a robotic companion.⠀

The Aibo uses technology to develop a bond with the user. Aibo can track and interact with a coloured ball, simulating the behaviour of a real dog playing. The movement and behaviour of Aibo advance as the user spends more time interacting with it. An illusion of personality emerges from the zoomorphic characteristics and movement.⠀
