Celebrate Latvia's Centennial with a pair of traditional patterned mittens!
While waiting for Latvia's Centennial, the idea for a mitten renaissance in Latvia was born. For Latvians, mittens are not only a practical winter garment, but clothing with a deeply symbolic meaning.

We invite everyone to participate in the celebration, "Latvia in Mittens" by knitting, gifting, and wearing a pair! So on November 18th, 2018, when we celebrate Latvia's 100th anniversary, everyone will be wearing mittens to symbolize the unity of all the people of Latvia and Latvians around the world.
