By @drewtrush // We didn’t really know what we were doing because no-one had done it before.  Sure people have gotten footage of mountain lions, but we began a deep dive into the lives of specific individuals over the course of what ended up being the next couple of years while following these groups of cat’s, gathering footage for @natgeowild American Cougar.  We had primarily been focusing on finding kills of both collared and un collared cats in northwest Wyoming.  While the kill idea definitely worked, I thought we needed to start focusing on other aspects of the kill site to start getting some different footage and mix it up.  I figured if we could find their day bed, or where they will spend the day sleeping we could put a camera there and potentially get something unique.  I was working for cinematographer @jeffhoganfilms and as any true mentor should, he always pushed me to go out and try and shoot something better than he did.  He allowed me the freedom to make mistakes.  That’s the only way you’ll get better in this game.  We had some of the best times out there figuring it out as we went, just ecstatic when we’d get a shot, trying to help each other figure it out when we wouldn’t.  Thanks Jeff.
