There was a sad but beautifully told story in the New York Times last week, 'A Generation in Japan Faces a Lonely Death’ by Norimitsu Onishi. It detailed the rising number of elderly people dying alone and unnoticed in a rapidly ageing Japan. It moved me to travel to the housing project featured in the piece and to contemplate those left behind - a side of Japan we rarely see. It also helped draw to a conclusion my ‘Disposable Lives’ series. 'Life goes on' sounds so dry but not taking anything for granted and appreciating the people and things around you sweetens the journey. #disposablelives #使い捨てカメラ
