The @lorealusa #WomenOfWorth event was beyond inspiring as we were all introduced to a group of amazing and resourceful women making a change in the lives of the people living in their communities and beyond.
I had the tremendous honor of presenting Cassandra Lin (@casslin7 ) who wanted to help those in need who could not afford to heat their homes. At just ten years old, Cassandra began encouraging her neighbors to recycle their used oil so it could be repurposed to heat homes. Her idea evolved into Project Turn Grease Into Fuel, developed as part of the Westerly Innovations Network, and spread throughout the community. Since then, Cassandra and her team helped introduce and pass a Used Cooking Oil Recycling Act in the state of Rhode Island, which requires all businesses to recycle their waste oil. Thank you Cassandra for your ingenuity and your beautiful heart ???
