Photographing diamonds was another opportunity to see and learn by putting my hands on surprises from the center of the earth. Locating and accessing both rough and polished diamonds was more complicated than I thought. Most diamonds that I was able to find were from South Africa and were cut and polished at the source or in Antwerp, Belgium. But diamonds have a much longer and arduous journey long before they are presented to the public.
