Betty Boo update #4:

Betty healed remarkably well after her #radicalmastectomy. She had a drain in for about a week and then a few sutures came out. She was back to her normal self just a couple days after surgery. She did love her white mesh tshirt and felt very pretty in it!! We told her she was a beautiful girl!
We were informed that she definitely had the big c word, but they just weren't sure of the type. They did stains and more staining.... and confirmation just wasn't known. I was praying for a miracle and that it wasn't cancer after all- maybe just a really heinous infection or other process, but now that it was removed- she would be fine!! She certainly was acting fine.
Well, the oncologist and pathologists are certain she has some type of cancer and it is aggressive... so we should start chemo as soon as possible to reduce the risk of spread. Betty started her chemo this week. Chemo is slightly a different experience in dogs for a few reasons- they aren't as aggressive with the dose, so the side effects are minimal- if any... and well- dogs handle everything better than humans!!! So- it doesn't impact their quality of life as much... It's been a couple days since her treatment and she is on some meds to prevent nausea. Her appetite is slightly affected- a bit more picky with what she eats. Today we are going to get her some super yummy food she will love. Other than that- she is still our #Bettystrong
