When it comes to standing up for what is right and proper in our relationship with nature, we have no better allies than First Nations, especially in British Columbia. As we begin documenting the devastating effects that Atlantic salmon fish farms are having on marine ecosystems in Canada, I delight in my new friendship with young leaders like @Tlalitlas_08, a young woman from the #Mugsgamaw Dzawada'enuwx First Nation, who has been occupying fish farms owned by #MarineHarvest for 75 days. These farms have been operating in tribal terrotory without consent from her people for over 30 years and they want fish farms out, so that the wild fish they depend on might return.
