This past year has been incredibly difficult. Many struggles that the World saw and many struggles that were far from the competition arena. I seriously wondered if we’d ever have a “great” skate in competition again, and if our best days were behind us. We made some difficult decisions this off season on our quest to our final Olympic run and I started accepting that I wasn’t a champion anymore, and it led to a rocky start to our season a few weeks ago. But I came to #SCI17 with a new mindset. And a refreshed goal of wanting to be the best. The field was so tough here with strong and amazing competitors that I admire and feel inspired by. But we arrived and we were hungry. It’s the first time in over a year that I felt that, and it was rejuvenating. So thank you to everyone that shared this journey with us, from rock bottom, back up the ladder.
