Yesterday, at Élise Lucet's #envoyespecial, I met Marlène Schiappa, the French minister of men/women equality. We must change the statute of limitations for rape in France. In my case, I can't press criminal charges because it happened 20 years and 5 months ago. In Italy it's even worse: prescription for rape is only 10 years. Madame Schiappa proposed to push the statute to 30 years and Lucet insisted the statute should not be only for minors. I am sure that if we speak out loud enough we can CHANGE this law, like in London and New York. #abolishstatuteoflimitations
