E D G Y // Another aluminium panel clamped up and nearly ready to roll for the final piece in the #journeyof1000cranes triptych. ?? This will be my 5th piece on ACM (aluminium composite material) so far and I absolutely love it. It doesn’t stretch, crack or warp. It’s tough, inhibits mould, has great adhesion with oils and the smooth surface perfectly suits my way of working. The way I mount it with 30mm alloy angle-channel gives a beautiful, gallery-edge finish. Cost wise, fully prepped/mounted, it’s very similar to stretcher bars + canvas + gesso. I honestly don’t see myself ever going back to canvas. ??? #art .
