Hi, I’m @patrickbrownphoto, a photographer working with #UNICEF on an issue I care deeply about - the plight of Rohingya #refugees. It’s the world’s fastest developing refugee emergency and children are at the heart of it – 60% of the 519,000 Rohingya refugees now in Cox’s Bazar, #Bangladesh, are children. A group of Rohingya refugees who set off at 4am from Rakhine State, in Myanmar arrive at Shamlapur beach in Bangladesh after traveling 5 hours in open waters of the Bay of Bengal, some with nothing more than the shirt on their back. What is striking for me is the very Viking-esque structure of the boat. It’s like they’ve come from another continent. The girl gets a brother to safety, gets stuff out. She’s been a powerhouse.
