Most of the time when we imagine how God wants to use us, we imagine it being in miraculous ways. We think big. We dream big. And we expect big.
Not that God won’t ever use us in those ways, but if you look at some of the great miracles in the Bible, they didn’t start that way. In fact, most of them began in mundane, ordinary circumstances.
The surprising truth is that great moves of God are usually preceded by simple acts of obedience.
Take Moses for example. God used him to part an ocean and deliver an entire nation from slavery. But that isn’t where it all started.
It actually began in a remote field. Moses was tending a flock of animals when God appeared as a burning bush and instructed him to return to Egypt.
It was an ordinary moment, interrupted by the beginnings of a miracle. That’s often how God works.
Whatever you find yourself doing today, remember that God can meet you in it.
