It's always strange to promote a film. Sometimes you have to lie and pretend it's good. Sometimes you play those stupid fucking games with a talk show host, and throw eggs at each other, or let them draw chest hair on your otherwise hairless chest. Then, once in a while, you've done a film that has its own life, that you respect, and that you are truly grateful you are a part of. This is that movie for me. I deeply love what this film represents: love and bravery. It's a love for those who are us but who innately dig down and find the best part of themselves to help common us. It is the first responders and citizens and firemen and police who walked toward the bullets in Vegas to save those in peril. It's the wildland firefighters all over the world who, out of the goodness of their hearts, tackle monster after monster of flame to protect your well being. And the camaraderie they hold dear is what we all long for. This film's heart is in the right place. As Wildland Cheif Dwayne Steinbrink put it: "You'll never be hotshots, but we're proud it's you representing." Support the spirit of all first responders and firefighters. See the film and you'll never look at them in the same way.
