Remembering and honoring those we lost in 9/11. We visited the 9/11 Memorial during our short time in New York last month. It was early on a weekday, it was unusually quiet, the sun shined bright and the air was warm. I walked up to the fountain and looked down at the plaque to find a number of Japanese names engraved. Of all the places I could have walked up to, it was like they had called me over. Reminding me that this is something the whole world needs to #neverforget . Just because something happens far away, doesn’t mean it is. We’re all one. We’re in this together. My thoughts and prayers go out to all those who lost a loved one in this tragic event. You are so strong and we’re always with you.

先月ニューヨークで 世界貿易センタービル跡地にある「9・11追悼施設」に行きました。静かな平日の朝で、太陽が眩しく風が暖かかったです。噴水の方に歩いていくと、目の前の石碑に日本人の方々の名前が書かれていました。まるでそこに呼ばれているかのようで驚きました。遠くに感じることも、実は近いんだよ。これはアメリカだけではなく、世界中の人々が忘れてはいけない日。僕らは一つなんだから。みんな一緒に頑張らないといけない。そんなメッセージを感じました。9/11で亡くなった方々、そして大切な人を失った方々にお悔やみ申し上げます。みなさんの強さを尊敬します。そしていつまでも応援しています。
