"The story is simple within itself. To some, the Gorge goes beyond a pretty view. It is/was where some of us, like myself, grew up wondering around in. It's a place where you go to feel humble again. It's a place where you take deep breaths, feel closer to nature, and realize how small you really are/how vast the world really is. I truly believe living so close to so many hiking opportunities my whole life has molded me into who I am today. To see that be greatly destroyed is traumatic. This photo has the story of gratitude that there were people onsite protecting Multnomah from the disasters of the fire. It's a quick cheers to the relief of being able to say that I can take the same picture next year. The gorge will never be the same and we have to do what we can to protect what we have left."
