Saturday's are perfect days for training a fox!!! Of course, Viktor says, he is not just any ol fox!!! He is not only a #russiandomesticatedfox - sometimes referred to as #belyaevfox - but he is one of the most adorable #foxes.... #noissueswithselfesteem
Viktor is being trained in tracking, but first we must master obedience!! One of the reasons we looked into getting Russian domesticated foxes is to see if they can be trained in search and rescue- #avalanche #rescue, in particular. We would have to get them a lot younger to truly understand their capabilities!! Currently, that is not possible, as they cannot be imported sooner than 6 months, which is past the crucial socialization window.
For now, Viktor says he is pretty darn happy getting yummy treats and meeting new people!! We have one encounter available for Sept 10th!! Southern CA!
