This week, senior editor @sophiemiura shares her choice: “I spoke to Sallie Krawcheck, CEO of @ellevest and author of Own It: The Power of Women at Work, for a story on Equal Pay Day and still think about her advice today. She told me that having a ‘sponsor’ rather than a mentor has been make-or-break in her career. In her words, ‘Every important decision is made when you are not in the room. Your sponsor is the person in the room who will say “promote her, not him.”’
