We've been tagged by many friends to share some facts about us, so I finally decided to put this post together. I listed a few facts below and I'll be happy to answer all your questions in the comments. ?
❶ My name is Olia, I'm originally from St. Petersburg/Russia. I'd been living in Europe for 14 years: in Germany in Berlin and Hamburg, and in Italy in the country side between Como and Bergamo. I moved to NYC 9 years ago and still live here.
❷ I studied art history, photography and graphic design and I'm passionate about classical art and music. I don't watch TV and barely know pop culture. ;) I can't stand small talks and crowded events, but I love spending time with like-minded people.
❸ I hate shopping and try to avoid big stores and malls, however I can spend hours in book, plants and art supplies stores. Art studios, museums, yoga retreats, botanical gardens and beaches are my happy places.
❹ I've switched to a plant-based diet in 2003 and I've stopped drinking alcohol in 2011 when I decided to do a yoga teacher training. I'm fascinated by Vedic culture and have been following Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition since 2010. One day, I'd love to go to Vrindavan, India and Radhanath Swami's Ecovillage in Mumbai to spend there a few months/years doing community service.
❺ The story of @Mr. Cookie began in the fall of 2012, when my daughter Lara [@artlarasaunders /@artstudio_nyc] created an IG account for Cookie. She called it “Pumpkin and Sunshine” after their nicknames. As Lara became older, she decided to change the accounts’ name to something simpler, thus @Mr. Cookie was born. I helped Lara with running it until I took it over a couple of years later.
❻ Cookie is a red mini poodle. He loves attention from humans and he avoids any contact with other dogs. He never sniffs around, marks anything or plays fetch. All that stuff is for dogs and he doesn't consider himself a dog.?
❼ He's very attached to me and always follows me around the house. He has pretty severe separation anxiety and he gets incredibly upset when I leave the house: he barks, howls and even his eyes start to tear up when he realizes that I'm going to leave him at home alone.
