The Rohingya, a muslim minority considered one of the most persecuted in the world, has fled repression in Myanmar for generations. Earlier this year I was in Bangladesh for National Geographic Magazine when about 75,000 Rohingya refugees crossed the border to escape a crackdown launched by the Myanmar security forces after nine policemen were killed in an attack believed to have been carried out by Rohingya militants. But Bangladesh, already poor and overpopulated, shows no enthusiasm for hosting them. Today, half a million undocumented Rohingya live in the country. The full story is on nationalgeographic.com.
