Bien qu’il soit encore anonyme, ce double portrait pouvait avoir été peint par le dessinateur et portraitiste français François Quesnel (1543-1619) au début du XVIIe siècle. Mettant en scène un couple orné de bijoux, cette peinture fut probablement destinée à commémorer des fiançailles, un mariage ou encore un anniversaire.
