And … Liftoff! SpaceX’s two-stage Falcon 9 rocket launched carrying the Dragon cargo craft to the International Space Station. Dragon will bring more than 6,400 pounds of supplies, equipment and new science experiments to the crew aboard station. Included in the latest round of science and experiments is a collaboration with the Michael J. Fox Foundation to study Parkinson’s Disease, as well as CREAM, a mission to study cosmic rays. Liftoff was at 12:31 p.m. EDT. This was SpaceX’s 12th resupply mission to the International Space Station.
