[@bpatrickflynn] Here's an all-time favorite blue and white bedroom from my portfolio. I love the idea of introducing sophisticated Americana style without being too literal, and a backdrop of navy or steel blue makes it easy to layer in red, white and even stripes without necessarily being thematic. Many times when I paint walls navy, I paint the ceiling about 30% lighter to keep it from darkening the room too much, and in the end you really can't even tell the difference that the ceiling's a different color.
