Photograph by @Thomas Peschak Imagine coming home to find a 400 pound - 5 foot long giant tortoise in your garage/car port. This scene can be common for Galapagos highland farmers during the dry season when tortoises roam more widely in search of water. The Galapagos National Park is successfully working with farmers to ensure that giant tortoises are well protected at all times and across their range.
