Cactuses are spiky and rough; gnarled, Seussian, and sometimes toxic. ?They’ve become a mainstay of millennial décor. But, in the same way that a bouquet of wildflowers is banal when compared to an alpine meadow of blooming wildflowers, cactuses in a terrarium pale in comparison to the arresting sight of ancient, alien cactuses in the places they grow wild. It’s a concept illustrated in the book that three cactus-crazed young men put together of pictures drawn from 22 cactus explorers’ archives and spanning 80 years.
