Somehow both my tweezer and the blunt cuticle nipper that I use to clip stickers/chains had become magnetic so I had a hard time affixing the chain. But I persevered and kept at it until the chain was attached perfectly. I wouldn't have been able to tolerate any gaps or any misalignment (sometimes the chain turns at an angle and crosses over, so irritating!!) so thank goodness my customers are always patient with me!! P.s. Clean cuticles do not always have a "pocket" or cast a shadow. Not everyone's cuticles can be pushed back so deep as to create that "pocket" - whether it can be done depends on genetics and on habit. Trying to force a "pocket" when it's not possible will just lead to red, swollen, or painful cuticles. I consider my job to be done when I have removed loose cuticle cleanly with no jagged bits hidden away, and when there is no obstruction to gel application on the nail plate in front of the eponychium and sidewalls.
