??I want you all my non Spanish speaking followers to understand the important act of democratic rebellion that we Venezuelans are going carry out tomorrow #16J • Nothing and no one shall stand in the way of our right to decide! This was my first time in front of a camera. The year was 1998, I was 21 and the first presidential election in which I could vote was drawing near. A few months before election day, some friends from URBE newspaper and the Dale Al Voto Foundation invited me to become part of a campaign to motivate #Youth Vote. I was a senior in college studying Mass Communications and the thought of becoming an actor never crossed my mind, not an inkling of what I was to become 5 years later. Neither could I possibly think that 20 years later the gravest of our problems in 1998 will pale in comparison to the tragedy we live today. I couldn't possibly fathom that 20 years after that campaign to invite our youth to vote, the fight today would be to RESCUE and RESTORE our #RIGHT TO VOTE sequestered by the very institutions supposed to warrant it. It's unacceptable that an ad from 1998 has become as current as ever, as a tragic reminder of our nation's stagnation in the last 2 decades. It is for these reasons, that tomorrow #16J each and every Venezuelan, and particularly our youth who have never taken part in real democratic elections, will have an opportunity to show our sovereign will and let our oppresors and the world at large know the country we want and deserve: a free, sovereign, modern nation, but above all, a democratic one. It's time to show your colors, #Rock The Vote! Please read about #Venezuela, share, debate, spread the awareness. ??
