A miniature horse went first. Sure, there were other options, like a “marble-like” plastic trash can ($75) and a pair of camel lamps ($25 each). Trump fans, bargain hunters, former workers and locals lined up for blocks outside the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City yesterday to forage over the crumbs of faux gilded opulence that defined the décor of the ill-fated casino. The Taj, which @ドナルド・トランプ heralded as “the 8th wonder of the world” when it opened in 1990, closed in 2016 after hemorrhaging money for nearly a decade. Yesterday, shoppers mingled amid items by turns eclectic and practical. But fans hoping for a discounted bit of #Trump memorabilia were left disappointed. There were no Trump-branded items anywhere in the casino; most of them had been removed before the sale. Still, there were bargains to be had. Simple white blinds: $10. And a long, leopard print “fainting couch,” with arms extending like a conch shell? $125. @markmakela photographed this shopper with one of the camel lamps.
